We recommend introducing Vitamin C in the morning under your moisturizer and keep retinol at night. Acids can be used a few times a week as a first step at night, if tolerated.
- Vitamin C + Retinol: Do not use them at the same time. Use Vitamin C in the morning to protect against environmental damage, and use your Retinol (Night Cream) in the evening to repair.
- Vitamin C + Acids (AHAs/BHAs): If you use exfoliating acids, we recommend using them on alternate mornings or only at night. Layering strong acids with Vitamin C can overwhelm the skin barrier and lead to redness.
No. We advise against mixing this serum directly into your jar of Night Cream or layering it with other PROVEN serums (like SkinSpecific formulas). Why? Your Night Cream is pH-balanced specifically for its own active ingredients (like Retinoids). Mixing in a potent Vitamin C can alter that pH balance, potentially reducing the efficacy of both products or causing skin irritation.
